Intl Cricket returns to J&K after 4-decades, Legends League to play 13 matches from Oct 3

Srinagar, Sep 12:  After four-decades international cricket is making its come back to Kashmir as Legends League Cricket is all set to play 13 matches in Jammu and Kashmir that would see participation of international cricketing legends.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Raman Raheja, Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket, who was flanked by prominent cricketer Muhammad Kaif, said that after almost four decades, Kashmir will host international cricket of legends.

“The LLC will start on September 20 from Jodhpur where six matches will be played. This will be followed by Surat where six matches will also be played. The last leg of matches will be held in J&K. From October 3, six matches will be played in Jammu and from October 9, Kashmir will host seven matches,” Raheja said. He said matches will be played in 20-20 format. “This will be the Season-3 of LLC,” he said.

Raheja said that international cricketers including Upul Tharanga, Dilshan, Ifran Pathan, Yousuf Pathan, Ian Bell, and others. “Almost 124 players from across the globe will participate in various matches in the LLC,” he said.

Asked about the venue, Raheja said that matches will be played at Bakshi Stadium where despite the ground being prominent for football matches, curators brought in from United States are working hard to making the ground fit for cricket matches. “After consultations with the J&K Sports Council, the pitch will be multi-functional for both cricket as well as football,” he said, adding that seating capacity at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium was just 13000 while as “we are expecting over 30,000 crowd at Bakshi Stadium.”

About the tickets for the matches, Raheja said that tickets will be available through Paytm in a day or two. “There won’t be shortage of tickets,” he said.

He said that players from 30 countries will be participating the League barring Pakistan. “We are following the guidelines,” he said.
