Kupwara Police Busts Counterfeit Gold Racket, Arrests Three Suspects

Kupwara, TDD: As a major crackdown, Kupwara Police busted a fake gold racket by arresting three persons and recovering 153 fake biscuits of gold.Following a tip-off, the police at Police Station Lalpora sprang into action and arrested three accused persons, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Rayaz Ahmad War, and Noor Mohd Lohar, all residents of Dever Lolab in Kupwara, on September 12, 2024. During interrogation, all the suspects confessed to their involvement in the spurious gold trade.The authorities estimate that the quantity of spurious gold is worth a fortune, and more arrests are likely as the investigation unfolds.This successful operation reflects the commitment of Kupwara Police to curbing illegal activities and saving citizens from fraudulent practices,” police said .Investigation in this regard is ongoing, and more recoveries are expected.
