JAMMU:TDD, In the wake of Navratri festival, Jammu Police today held an interaction cum awareness session with the devotees, management of the temple, shopkeepers, and locals at Bagh-e-Bahu Temple complex.
The meeting was chaired by SP South Jammu, Ajay Sharma and attended by SDPO East Shezan Bhat, SHO Bage-e-Bahu Inspector Vijay Verma, IC PP Mandir SI Lekhraj Sharma, President Minibus Union, President Auto union, parking incharge, various sewadar organisations, Mandir prabandhak Committee members, president Bage e Bahu market union.
The awareness cum interaction was related to prevailing security scenario in the J&K, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders towards strengthening mechanism to manage the huge rush of devotees during Navratras to the important religious place of pilgrimage like Babe wali Mata temple complex and adjoining area.
Later, the SP City South along with SDPO City East Jammu, SHO Bagh e bahu, Incharge PP Mandir toured the whole temple market, surrounding areas, fort complex and main temple premises and interacted with the stakeholders to make them aware about the role and responsibilities of citizens, shop keepers, devotes, volunteers in ensuring safe and smooth Navratri rush keeping in view the present prevailing security scenario.
He requested them to inform the police about any suspicious activity, person, object and be a part of the larger security grid of Jammu Police.
The SP South requested the shopkeepers and president market union to install more CCTV Cameras and increase the storage capacity of already installed DVRs and check their functionality regularly.
Later, SP South, Jammu along with the team reviewed the security of PP Mandir Bahu Fort and briefed the deployed manpower and asked to be alert, extra vigilant and respond quickly in case of any exigency.
The public, devotees and shopkeepers, Mandir committee, public of the area highly appreciated the positive step of Jammu police for public outreach in an important temple complex of Jammu and interacting with the stakeholders with full police team towards the safe and smooth Navratri pilgrimage of devotees.
