Kashmir can never become part of Pakistan: Dr Farooq Abdullah on Ganderbal attack

‘How can there be talks with Pak when innocents are brutally killed, Neighbouring country must take care of its people, leave us alone’

The Diplomat Desk
Srinagar,(TDD): National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that Kashmir can never become Pakistan as all efforts in that direction since 1947 proved futile.
He was reacting to the yesterday’s Gangangeer, Ganderbal attack in which seven persons including a doctor and six labourers were killed.
“If Pakistan leadership is really interested in friendship with India, it should stop killing innocents. Kashmir can never become part of Pakistan, never ever. They tried it in 1947 by sending rebels and since then they are trying it but all such efforts proved futile,” Dr Farooq told reporters at his Gupkar residence.
He said that there can be no talks with Pakistan unless it stops killing innocents in Kashmir. “What was the fault of those who were killed yesterday,” he asked.
Pakistan, Dr Farooq said, should take of its own people and leave Kashmir to Kashmiris. “We want to serve people, end poverty and sufferings. You are killing innocents here,” he said.
Dr Farooq said that such acts will definitely cast a shadow not only on tourism but on the lives of everyone living in Kashmir. The Gagangeer, Ganderbal, attack took place a day after Kashmir hosted first ever international event of Marathon in which 2000 Athletes from across the country and 59 Athletes from 13 foreign countries participated. The attack also came a day before the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MLAs in Srinagar (TDD)
