Diplomat Correspondent
Jammu: DPS Jammu celebrated Children’s Day with splendour and pride as it welcomed its shining star and distinguished alumna, Kavya Bali (Batch 2023–24), recently crowned Miss Asia 2025 at a glittering grand finale at the Gokulam Convention Center, Kochi.

The morning transformed into a moment of unmatched elegance as Kavya was accorded a regal red-carpet reception, befitting the international honour she brought home.
The school band heralded her arrival, while the little crowned fairies of the Pre-Primary Wing—adorned in vibrant colours—showered flower petals along her pathway.
They presented her with a special “My DPS Queen” crown as they danced and waved pom-poms, celebrating one of their own who rose to continental glory. Principal and Vice Principal welcomed her with a ceremonial potted plant symbolising respect, blessing, and rootedness.
The assembly began with the traditional lamp lighting and floral tributes to India’s first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, followed by the reading of Kavya’s citation—an ode to her perseverance, humility, and meteoric rise.
In an atmosphere filled with warmth and celebration, the teachers dedicated a melodious Children’s Day song to the students.
A graceful guitar-and-vocal performance by talented Dipsites filled the hall with rhythm, followed by a stirring motivational poem by Ms. Laxmi. A lively dance performance by Suresh Sir and the spirited little dancers of Class I set the stage alive, earning thunderous applause.
Kavya’s inspiring journey—from Outreach Ambassador and Peer Educator at DPS Jammu to an international pageant titleholder—was highlighted with immense pride.

Before conquering Asia, she had represented Jammu and Kashmir at Miss Queen of India 2025, securing Second Runner-Up, and earlier earned laurels as Runner-Up at Miss Navi Mumbai.
She is presently pursuing Multimedia and Mass Communication at Mumbai’s prestigious Mithibai College, nurturing her passion for media, fashion, and performing arts.

In her address, Kavya spoke with sincerity and grace, urging students to believe in themselves, stay grounded, and pursue their dreams with unwavering determination. Her interaction during the Q&A session left the young Dipsites inspired, motivated, and visibly proud.

Following her address, student achievers from sports and other disciplines were felicitated by Kavya and other dignitaries.
Among the honoured students were Rigved (XI-B) – Gold medalist at the 3rd Junior Asian Pencak Silat Championship, Srinagar; Sparsh (IX-E) – Bronze medalist at the same championship;
Madhavendra Singh (XI-E) – National gold and silver medalist in pickleball and soft tennis;

She called upon every child to grow into individuals of character—spreading kindness, empathy, and goodness wherever they go.
Vice Principal Meenu Gupta encouraged students to persevere with diligence, embrace challenges, and strive for excellence.
The ceremony concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, wrapping the day in joy, inspiration, and pride. The Esteemed Management of DPS Jammu—guided by the visionary leadership of President RCT M.K.
