Jammu,(DD):The government has clarified that there are no plans to introduce a stipend or unemployment allowance for jobless youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated in a written reply to a query raised in the Assembly, where the government emphasized that its focus remains on creating employment opportunities rather than offering financial assistance to the unemployed.
Officials highlighted various skill development initiatives, self-employment schemes, and startup incentives aimed at empowering youth and improving job prospects in the region. However, many opposition members and youth organizations have expressed disappointment, arguing that a stipend could provide temporary relief to thousands of educated yet unemployed individuals struggling to find stable jobs.
The issue of unemployment remains a pressing concern in J&K, with demands for government intervention and private sector expansion growing stronger. Despite ongoing recruitment drives and economic initiatives, many job seekers continue to face challenges in securing sustainable employment.(DD)
