Operation Sindoor: India Repels Cross-Border Drone Incursions Amid Escalation in Kashmir and Punjab

Diplomat Bureau

Srinagar/Jammu, May 10(DD)
In a dangerous and deliberate escalation, Pakistan launched coordinated drone and artillery provocations across the western theatre, targeting sensitive zones in both Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

At approximately 5:00 AM today, multiple enemy armed drones were detected over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. In a swift and precise response, Indian Air Defence units tracked and destroyed all intruding UAVs before they could inflict damage.

Simultaneously, heightened drone activity and radar anomalies were recorded near Srinagar Airport, Awantipora air base, and other key installations in the Kashmir Valley. Quick-reaction teams were deployed and the airspace was secured.

These intrusions come just hours after the tragic shelling in Rajouri, which claimed the life of a senior civil officer. Together, these actions point to a concerted attempt by Pakistan to destabilize civilian life and test India’s defensive posture.

The Indian Army, in coordination with the Indian Air Force and local law enforcement, has raised the alert level across forward bases and airfields in Kashmir, Jammu, and Punjab.

Pakistan’s blatant violation of India’s sovereignty and its reckless targeting of civilian and military infrastructure will not go unanswered. The Indian Army remains fully committed to defending national integrity and ensuring the safety of our people.

OperationSindoor is now active across the northern sector to neutralize threats and uphold peace through strength.
