PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti appears before J&K, Ladakh High Court in Jammu

Seeks return of undertail detained persons back to J&K from different jails of the country

Jammu: DD, Former Chief Minister, and PDP Chief, Mehbooba Mufti on Monday appeared before J&K & Ladakh, High Court in Jammu, seeking return of the detained persons to J&K from different parts of the country.
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed before the J&K High Court, the PDP Chief, Mehbooba Mufti told reporters here in Jammu that sought the return of the detained persons from different jails of the country back to their native erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state.
Mufti herself appeared before the court and urged that the issue of detained persons shall be treated on humanitarian grounds so that they can get justice.


“Around 3000-3500 people from different places of J&K have been detained, and lodged in different jails on suspicion after 2019,” she said.
She said that the detained persons (undertrail) mostly belong to poor families, and their families are facing hardship to meet them. Hence, they shall be returned back to J&K.DD
