PHE Employees Union seeks regularization of daily wagers

Diplomat Correspondent

Jammu: DD, J&K PHE Civil and Mechanical Employees Union has lashed out at the government over the failure to fulfill the commitments to regularize the daily wagers.
Talking to reporters, president of the J&K PHE Civil and Mechanical Employees Union Fayaz Akbar Chouhan said that BJP befooled the daily wagers, need based and CP workers of PHE, irrigation, flood control and all other departments from 2014 till date while Omar Abdullah government failed to fulfill his commitment for last one year.
Chouhan said that there is no money to regularize the daily wagers and to enhance their wages but all Ministers and MLAs of all political parties have got fresh Scorpio vehicles alongwith other escort vehicles, well furnished Bungalows etc.

They only she’d crocodile tears over daily wagers and genuine issues of employees, pensioners who are suffering a lot.
He said that BJP too is in power for 11 years at centre and UT directly and indirectly but have betrayed the daily wagers besides employees and pensioners as well as unemployed youth.
Omar Abdullah Government is in power for over one year but failed to frame any policy, not even enhancing wages as per minimum wages Act.
This is great injustice to them, claiming that entire PHE, I&FC departments are being run primarily by the daily wagers as only 15 to 20 % permanent employees are left without regular recruitment in the past several years.
Chouhan said that there are lot number of pensioners whose arrears of PF, Gratuity, and VRS are pending for years amounting to over 4500 crores.
The patience of daily wagers, employees and pensioners are running out and shall soon take to streets to press for the early resolution of genuine issues.
He was accompanied by Ajay Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Sat Pal Sharma and other leaders of the Union.DD
