Udhampur:DD, A joint meeting was organized among Police officials, Vyopar Mandal (Business Association), local residents of Kud area, and Taxi Union of Patnitop, where people got a chance to express their issues personally to the authorities.
SDPO Chenani Sukhvir Singh listened attentively to the complaints brought by both residents of Kud and members of the Patnitop Taxi Union, resolving police-related matters on the spot during the meeting. Participants were assured that genuine concerns that came under the purview of other government departments would be referred through proper channels. The session was also an educative platform through which the members of the gathering acquired knowledge of different legal provisions such as new criminal laws, DPS Act, offense against women laws, the Domestic Violence Act, and POCSO Act. Motor Vehicle Act rules were specifically focused upon while interacting with the members of the Patnitop Taxi Union. The Kud Station House Officer (SHO) was in attendance throughout the proceeding, showing the local police’s emphasis on community policing and problem-solving.DD
