Udhampur: TDD,In preparation for the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election 2024, polling parties have been dispatched to their respective booths in Udhampur District under tight security measures.
The last phase of voting is scheduled for tomorrow, October 1, 2024, covering four assembly constituencies in the district: Udhampur West, Udhampur East, Chenani, and Ramnagar.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has established 654 polling stations across the district to facilitate voter participation. Udhampur West constituency has 184 polling stations for its 1,15,655 voters, while Udhampur East has 157 stations for 1,00,690 voters. Chenani constituency is equipped with 155 polling stations for its 1,09,174 electorate, and Ramnagar (SC) constituency has 158 stations set up for 96,779 voters.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai (IAS) confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth voting experience. Six polling parties were dispatched yesterday to far-off areas, with the remaining teams leaving today from Government Degree College Boys and Government Degree College Women.
Rai emphasized that adequate security measures are in place to maintain a safe environment throughout the polling process. The polling parties have been equipped with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and other essential materials to conduct the election efficiently.
This final phase marks the conclusion of the J&K Assembly Election 2024, with Udhampur District playing a crucial role in the democratic process of the region.TDD
