Srinagar, (DD): Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow to meet the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed over 26 lives and left many others critically injured.
Gandhi will arrive in Srinagar and proceed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag to inquire about the health and recovery of those injured in the attack, which has drawn nationwide condemnation.
Confirming the visit, Congress veteran Ghulam Ahmad Mir said, “Rahul ji will be landing in Srinagar tomorrow and heading straight to GMC Anantnag to meet the injured. Later, he will return to Srinagar to attend a party function being organized by the J&K Congress leadership.”
The visit is seen as a gesture of solidarity with the victims and their families, as well as a strong political statement in the aftermath of one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the region in recent years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have already condemned the attack and expressed grief over the loss of lives. The Home Minister assured full support to the Jammu and Kashmir administration in ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining security in the region.(DD)
