Srinagar,(DD): In a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, Srinagar Police have filed a chargesheet against seven terror associates under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in a local court.

The chargesheet is linked to FIR No. 31/2024, registered at Khanyar Police Station, under Sections 13, 18, 20, 23, and 38 of the UAPA, along with Section 7/25 of the Arms Act. These sections pertain to unlawful activities, conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, membership in terrorist organizations, and illegal possession of arms and ammunition.

According to official sources, eight individuals were involved in the case, including a Pakistani terrorist operating under the code name Usman, who was killed in an encounter with security forces. While charges have been formally filed against seven accused for their involvement in terror-related activities, an abate challan has been submitted concerning the deceased terrorist.

The police stated that the accused were part of a larger network supporting terrorist operations in the region, providing logistical support, shelter, and facilitating the movement of arms and ammunition.

This development marks a critical step in the legal proceedings, highlighting the ongoing efforts of security agencies to dismantle terror networks and maintain peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. Investigations are still underway to identify any additional links related to the case.(DD)
