Udhampur,TDD, In a significant move towards ensuring fair and transparent election results, Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir successfully completed its first randomization of counting staff on October 2, 2024.
The process, overseen by District Election Officer Saloni Rai, took place at the Mini Conference Hall in the DC Office Complex, Udhampur.
This crucial exercise covered four Assembly constituencies: AC-59 Udhampur West, AC-60 Udhampur East, AC-62 Ramnagar, and AC-61 Chenani.
The randomization, a cornerstone of electoral integrity, utilized specialized software adhering to the Election Commission of India’s stringent guidelines.
To maintain complete transparency, the entire procedure was meticulously video recorded. Returning Officers for each constituency were present during the process, adding an extra layer of accountability.
This event marks a pivotal step in preparation for the counting day scheduled for October 8, 2024.
The district administration has been proactive in its approach, arranging comprehensive training and orientation sessions for the selected staff.
These measures aim to equip the counting personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate a smooth and efficient tabulation of votes.
