Jammu: DD, In a bid to combat the scourge of drug abuse, Jammu Police under the guidance of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh – JKPS and supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma JKPS, along with SDPO Nagrota, Vinod Kundal and SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Insp Nishant Gupta organised a show (Nukkad Natak) on Anti- Drugs awareness under Civic Action Programme at Dansal under the jurisdiction of PS Jhajjar Kotli in which large number of respectable citizens of the area participated with full enthusiasm.
This anti-Drug Awareness Campaign aims to educate the general public regarding the menace of drug abuse in the society.
The initiative capitalises on ensuring the anti-drug message reaches a broad audience. The show was organised prominently to display harmful effects of drug abuse and stressed to steer clear of drugs and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
The campaign seeks to foster enduring awareness about the issue of drug abuse.
It serves as a constant reminder to the individuals, reinforcing the importance of staying away from illicit substances.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any credible information regarding the sale or possession of drugs, as well as any other illegal activities.
It is also assured to people providing information that their identity will be kept confidential, and they may be rewarded for their cooperation.
This innovative anti-drug awareness campaign reflects the Jammu Police’s commitment in tackling drug abuse and safeguarding the well-being of the community. Through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, they aim to create a safer and drug-free environment for all residents.
It is worth mentioning here that a large number of general public ( more than 250 respectable citizens ) participated in the show and have appreciated the initiative taken by the police department to curb the drug menace.
Moreover a pledge was also taken in this regard by all the participants and all have ensured to help the police and other agencies in curbing drug menance and make the society drug free.
This unique awareness campaign launched by Jammu Police will continue and will be taken up in other areas of Jammu District in coming days.DD
